NEW GERMAN UBA REGULATION

New Formaldehyde limits for raw and melamine wood-based panels placed in  the
German market.

regarding the rule published in the German Official Journal (BANZ AT 26.11.2018) which provides new formaldehyde emission limits for wood-based products placed  in the German market from  the 1st of  January 2020 and the introduction of a new EN 16516 standard as a reference method, we specify the following:
The German rule stipulates that from 01/01/2020 wood-based panels placed in the German market must have a formaldehyde emission of no more than 0.1 ppm under the new EN 16516 standard.
(corresponding to 0.05 ppm according to EN 717-1 legislation relating to the current European standard E1).
The verification of compliance with this regulation is in the responsibility of those who enter finished products in the German market and the entry into force of the legislation does not preclude access to the German market of products made before 31/12/2019.
Frati Luigi SPA has recently introduced a new raw panel called HALF E1
able to comply with the new limits imposed by the German regulation,
understanding  that the melamine chipboard  panels produced in E1 already complies extensively with the requirements of the above regulations.
Compliance with these limits is proven by the tests carried out at Catas, Cosmob and DTI for raw and melamined  panels produced at
Pomponesco (MN) and Pantec of Borgo Virgilio (MN).
